Crash, make mistakes & learn

Be the Astronaut at Peoria Riverfront Museum (June 18 - Sept. 11, 2016) - featured in USA Today as a “Must-see exhibit” in 2016

Before taking the controls of the life-like space capsule in the “Be the Astronaut” exhibit, visitors should be aware of one thing — you can crash.

“Mistakes are a great part of the learning experience,” said Keith Feinstein, the creative director for Eureka Exhibits, the company which created “Be the Astronaut.” “There are characters in the exhibit who talk to you and teach you, but they do allow you to make mistakes.”

…. “I remember being disappointed when I went to museum exhibits because they focused on artifacts or facts about specific missions, but they never really answered the question of how to fly.”
